What is Army Tuition Assistance?

The Army Tuition Assistance (TA) Program provides Soldiers with funding for education and training programs from regional, national, or professional accredited colleges, universities and vocational schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The tuition and fees for course enrollments are paid upfront by Army Tuition Assistance. The Tuition Assistance program covers tuition costs for online distance education programs – that way, students can learn from bases worldwide!

What is Navy/Marine Corps Tuition Assistance?

Marine Tuition Assistance (TA) is the Marine Corps’ educational financial assistance program. It provides active duty Marine Corps/Navy personnel with funding for Marine education programs taken in an off-duty status at a regionally, nationally, or professionally accredited college, university, or vocational school recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The tuition and fees for course enrollments are paid upfront by Marine Corps/Navy TA. The military tuition assistance program covers 100% of the tuition costs for both classroom and distance education programs.

The Air Force Tuition Assistance (TA) Program is the Air Force’s educational financial assistance program. It provides active duty Air Force personnel with educational funding at regionally and nationally accredited schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The tuition and fees for course enrollments are paid upfront by Air Force TA. The program covers 100% of the tuition costs for both classroom and distance education programs.

What is Coast Guard Tuition Assistance?

The annual cap for TA is $4,500.00 for active duty personnel, selected Reservists and civilian employees. The annual cap falls within each fiscal year (1 October to 30 September). Note: : The established TA maximums payable per fiscal year does not mean that the Coast Guard guarantees to paythe full amounts detailed above. What is WV Army and Air National Guard Tuition Assistance?

The WV National Guard funds up to 100% of tuition costs and fees up to $6,000 per person per fiscal year using the state (WVEEP) tuition assistance program. This tuition assistance may be used in addition to federal tuition assistance if a member of the Army Guard, the GI Bill and Pell Grants. Eligibility Requirements:
  • Students need to complete courses for which Tuition Assistance is provided before their Expiration Term of Service (ETS) date.
  • Soldiers requesting Tuition Assistance must enroll in an approved post-secondary institution within WV.
  • The institution must provide the student with documentation clearly describing the cost of each course.
  • Tuition Assistance funds will not be disbursed without verification of enrollment.
  • Students need to submit grades to the WVEEP manager upon completion of a course.
