Blackboard Orientation Information

This is a self-enroll course within Blackboard created to help introduce our students to Blackboard, how to navigate within it, and how to access and submit their coursework.

To access this orientation, you must first login to Blackboard.  To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to www.mctc.edu.
  2. Click MyMCTC along the top of the page.
  3. Enter your 942# for your username and your date of birth MMDDYY as your password.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up your MyMCTC account. If you have any difficulties, please refer to the document entitled “Accessing MyMCTC Self-Service” posted below for a step-by-step guide to help you set up your account and login.

Accessing MyMCTC

You should now be logged into MyMCTC. To login to Blackboard and enroll in the Blackboard Orientation course, follow the steps below

  1. Click on “Online Classes
  2. Click “Login to Blackboard
  3. Locate the “Student Resources” module within Blackboard, which is located in the upper right of the screen.
  4. Click on “Blackboard Orientation
  5. You will either see an error or no content. This is normal since you are not enrolled in the course yet. You must enroll in the course before being permitted to see the content.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the course menu on the left and click the “+Enroll” link.
  7. Refresh your page and you will now be logged into our Blackboard Orientation course to help you learn about how to use Blackboard for your classes.

While you are here, self-enroll into the other self-enroll courses available to you – such as the Academic Support Services course, the Online Writing Center course, and the Mountwest Orientation course!
