Mountwest Community & Technical College has been named in the top 20 Best for Vets: Career & Technical Colleges by Military Times for 2016. The Military Times Best for Vets distinction recognizes colleges for commitment to providing opportunities to America’s veterans. At Mountwest, veterans and active duty military members receive personalized support from the initial point of inquiry through graduation from our trained staff of military veterans.

Military Times named Mountwest the best two-year college for vets in the nation for 2013 and best community and technical college for vets in the nation for 2014.

Federal Tuition Assistance (Fed TA)

For those students currently in uniform, Mountwest Community & Technical College except Federal Tuition Assistance (Fed TA) funding from GoArmyEd and The Navy College. If you are interested in using Fed TA to assist you in your educational goals, you must first contact your command’s education office for information, guidance, and approval.

If you are on active duty in the US Army or serve in one of its components, your tuition assistance funding will be obtained through GoArmyEd. GoArmyEd can be accessed via the web by searching, ‘GoArmyEd’ (https://www.goarmyed.com), or by phone at 800-817-9990 for CONUS or 800-861-7770 for OCONUS.

If you are on active duty in the US Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or serve in one of their components, your tuition assistance funding will be obtained through The Navy College. The Navy College can be accessed via the web by searching, ‘Navy College Program’ (https://www.navycollege.navy.mil). For phone contact information, the Navy and Marines are directed to call 877-838-1659 (text messaging), 877-838-1659 for CONUS or 492-4684 for DSN, and the Coast Guard is directed to call 757-366-6578.
