Higher Learning Commission

Mountwest Community & Technical College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.

Medical Assistant – Medical Assistants, in accordance with respective state laws, perform a broad range of administrative and clinical duties, as indicated by the American Association of Medical Assistants recent role delineation study. The Mountwest Medical Assistant program is accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants recent role delineation study. The Mountwest Medical Assistant program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org), on recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).

Paramedic – The Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Program at Mountwest is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
