PTA PROGRAM SPECIFIC COSTS


The following represents the 2017-2018 associated costs for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Mountwest Community & Technical College.  All students seeking admission to the program should be aware that these items are required and not negotiable after a seat has been accepted in the program.  Furthermore, timely notice of dues dates will be provided and must be adhered to in order to meet program outcomes.  These amounts are estimates and are subject to revision with notice.


Initial Costs
- Transfer Evaluation Fee        $20.00
- PTA Application Fee (includes cost of aptitude exam)    $45.00

First Summer Semester Costs
- Lab Materials to include:
o Stethoscope        $30.00
o Uniform (Polo – 1 required)      $25.00
o Goniometer / gait belt       $30.00
- Scrubs (Caribbean color – 2 sets required)     $100.00
- APTA / WV Professional Student Membership Dues    $100.00
- CPR Certification (due by start of fall semester)     $40.00 
- Physical Exam ( due by start of fall semester)     $100.00

Fall Semester Costs
- Criminal Background Check / Drug Screen Fee (first is included in fees)  $125.00
- TB Test & HepB vaccine (may be required prior to clinical placement)  $20.00
- Health Insurance (will be required prior to all clinical placements)  $250.00

Spring Semester Costs **
- Advantage Online, Mock NPTAE Exit Exam     $50.00
- Mountwest Graduation Fee       $40.00

Summer Semester Costs **
- Professional Licensure Fees       $700.00

Miscellaneous Costs
- Textbooks (program)        $1,100.00
- Clinical costs associated with travel, lodging, etc. (at students expense)  Varies


** Spring / Summer Semester: (the following are only if required for subsequent testing, etc. per clinical)
- Criminal Background Check / Drug Screen Fee (if needed for clinical) $125.00
- TB Test & HepB vaccine (may be required prior to clinical placement) $20.00
- Health Insurance (will be required prior to all clinical placements) $250.00

NOTE:  Students should be aware that due to credit hours required to be taken the first and last summer of the program, financial aid will not be available to pay for the classes, so plan accordingly.
