Mountwest to offer workforce development courses
Huntington, W.Va. - Mountwest Community & Technical College is offering courses in Industrial Electricity I & II, Industrial Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Phlebotomy that lead to a certificate and preparation for a national exam.
The Industrial Electricity concentration focuses on careers that will build knowledge and technical skills in basic electricity, industrial and commercial wiring, ladder logic diagrams, and motor controls, while the Industrial Hydraulics and Pneumatics concentration focuses on careers that will build knowledge and technical skills in basic hydraulic systems and industrial hydraulic maintenance.
Phlebotomy will focus on communication skills, legal responsibility, technical skills, patient and client customer service, leadership and much more.
Classes will be two days a week during evening hours at the Spring Valley Career & Technical Education Center beginning January 27 through May 29. Funding is available through Mountwest’s Office of Financial Aid and the HEAPS grant.
