Nationally, student loan debt topped $966 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Delinquency rates on student loans are at 8.9 percent.
At an average in-state tuition rate of $140 per credit hour, Mountwest is already one of the most affordable options. However, more than 60 percent of Mountwest students depend on financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants or loans.
Scholarships through the Mountwest Foundation ensure that students can continue pursuing their degree despite financial difficulties and help reduce student loan debt.
