Allied Health

Welcome to the Mountwest Community and Technical College Division of Allied Health and Life Sciences website. Nationally, the need for careers in healthcare and life sciences is expected to grow for several years, and Mountwest is here to assist you with attaining the education and skills needed for these jobs.  The AH&LS Division offers  Associate of Applied Science (AAS),  Certificate of Science (CAS) and Skill Sets,  many of these programs are accredited by professional accrediting agency to meet the standards of excellence in their field.  AH&LS Students will also have the opportunity to train using our state of the art clinical and life science equipment similar to that found in the modern workplace. 

Allied Health

Skill Sets

Skill sets are a series of courses that focus on a specific entry level skill or career. These skill sets are part of a career ladder that builds into the Certificate of Applied Science program and the Associate in Applied Science program. Certificate of Applied Science Programs

The Certificate of Applied Science programs are a series of courses that focus on specific entry level skills within a given profession. These programs are designed for completion in one calendar year. Graduates of these programs are prepared to enter into a variety of healthcare fields or continue their education through one of the Associate in Applied Science programs offered at Mountwest Community and Technical College. Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Programs

The Associate of Applied Science programs are a series of courses designed for completion in two to three years. Graduates of these programs are prepared to enter into a variety of healthcare fields.
