Instructor/Assistant Professor – Medical Assistant Program

 Full-time, 9-month faculty, renewable term appointment. 

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Position Requirements: Qualified applicants should have a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA) credential. Individuals without a CMA, but who have experience in other medically relevant field of study, i.e. nursing, may be considered. A Bachelor’s Degree is required, a Master’s Degree is preferred. If successful candidate does not have CMA-AAMA credential, he/she must be willing to obtain degree and national certification. 

Duties: 1) teaching courses in the MA program, 2) working with clinical faculty to ensure appropriate course content and clinical internships, 3) assisting with program and course assessment and reviews, 4) attending advisory meetings, 5) working with the administration to maximize learning outcomes for students in the program, 6) assisting in the completion of national accreditation requirements for the program, and 7) working to develop and implement student success/recruitment/retention strategies. This position may require off-campus teaching responsibilities and/or on-line education.

Position Requirements: Current State of West Virginia Paramedic Certification with no restrictions and three years of EMS teaching experience. National Registry of EMT's Paramedic Certification, ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, PALS or PEPP certifications preferred. Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred. Qualified applicant must have teaching experience in post-secondary and/or vocational/technical education with experience in instructional and educational theory and techniques.
 
 
Duties & Responsibilities: Teach EME and PAR courses within the Division of Allied Health & Life Sciences. Work with program coordinator to ensure appropriate course content and clinical internships. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with certification as a Pharmacy Technician (cPhT), or a licensed Pharmacist. Three years professional experience required and college-level teaching experience preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities: Administration of the Pharmacy Technician program, advising and recruitment of students, coordination of all aspects of the program to include accreditation responsibilities, and instructional duties. This position may require off-campus teaching responsibilities and/or on-line education.

Full-time Faculty/Program Coordinator - Occupational Therapy Assistant Educational Program.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Requirements: Master’s Degree from regionally accredited institution, certification as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, and be licensed or eligible in the state of West Virginia. Successful candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, including administrative or supervisory experience and at least 1 year of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities.

 Full-time, benefits eligible, exempt, 12-month classified employee grant-funded position.  Pay Grade 17. 

Salary: $30,767 per year. 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 – 4 years of related experience, Master’s degree preferred. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  Work with the BEACON grant Project Manager in collecting program data, providing data that will be used in decision-making resulting in process improvements, and acting as a liaison with the external grant evaluator.

Full-time, benefits-eligible position. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of directly related experience in sales; project, supervisory and fiscal management. 

Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the planning and delivery of credit and non-credit contract training offered by the Division of Workforce Development. Work with the local Chamber of Commerce and businesses to form and then expand industry sector partnerships by determining employer training and worker pre-employment skills training needs.    Supervise staff, establish work priorities and set individual performance goals. Monitor, review and approve staff proposals, contracts, reports and other paperwork. Assign businesses for Contract Coordinators to visit and establish areas of focus.  Ensure that the college becomes known as a training provider of choice within the Tri-State area.

Coordinator of Continuing & Community Education (Non-Credit Courses) 

Part-time, 20 hours per week. 

Salary:  $13.01/hour. 

Qualifications:  Associate Degree plus 4 years of related work experience. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  Plan, schedule and market continuing education courses for both on- and off-campus locations. Identify instructors to teach courses.  Collect and deposit course fees.  Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.

 Student Success Peer Coaches

12 positions are available to current and recently graduated Mountwest Community & Technical College students. Salary:  $11.00/hour, not benefits eligible.  Hours available vary by semester:

Spring 2012, 8-10 hours per week
Summer 2012, 10-15 hours per week
Fall 2012, 15 hours per week
Spring 2013 5-10 hours per week 

Student Success Peer Coaches will work with all campus constituents and friends of the college and are expected to be involved and fully participate in all stages of the enrollment process from assisting with recruitment efforts through graduation activities.

Student Success Peer coaches are expected to:

  • Attend all training activities
  • Serve as Mountwest CTC Ambassadors
  • Develop knowledge of institutional academic program offerings
  • Assist enrollment management with off-campus recruiting efforts
  • Provide campus tours
  • Assist with Enrollment Management functions
  • Complete data entry in EMAS (enrollment management software) as directed
  • Contact prospective students via telephone and email
  • Triage advising questions
  • Assist with new student orientation
  • Serve as Peer Coaches within COL 101 and COL 280 courses
  • Outreach to students
  • Train incoming Student Success Peer Coaches

Requirements include:

  • A Mountwest CTC student in good academic standing or a recent Mountwest CTC graduate
  • Earned a minimum of 15 credit hours with Mountwest Community & Technical College
  • Have a declared major
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard and Facebook
