Rotary Club sponsors scholarships for Cabell Midland students

April 19, 2013

Huntington, W.Va. - For years, the Barboursville Rotary Club has provided scholarships to Cabell Midland High School students who wish to attend West Virginia universities. This year, however, they’re adding two new $1,500 scholarships for seniors at CMHS who would like to attend Mountwest Community & Technical College.

Vicki Dunn-Marshall, President of the Barboursville Rotary Club, explains the reasoning behind this addition.

“After learning more about Mountwest and the programs they offer, the Rotary Board of Directors recognized that kids who graduate from these programs are immediately employable to this community,” said Dunn-Marshall. “Our Rotary Club could actually make a difference to not only the students it sponsors, but also to the local employers who would benefit from the students.”

Any student wishing to apply can find a list of qualifications and applications in the counselors’ office at Cabell Midland. The deadline to apply is April 30.
