Huntington, W.Va. - Mountwest Community & Technical College’s new student orientation program will soon welcome students as members of the Mountwest community and help provide a seamless transition into college life. Orientation will be held on four different dates in preparation for the fall 2014 semester. Sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, and Tuesday, August 12, and 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, and Wednesday, August 13. Each session typically lasts about two hours.
During this informative program, students receive an introduction to all available services and learn more about starting their college career. At orientation, students can expect to meet fellow new students, attend small group workshops, receive necessary forms and documents, meet program faculty, get their Mountwest ID, take a tour of campus and much more.
Once admitted, students should complete their CAP assessment and participate in advising to develop their class schedule. All newly admitted students must attend the half-day orientation program. Each orientation session is by reservation only. Due to seating capacity, students must be pre-registered to attend. Register by calling 304-710-3060.
