Huntington, W.Va. - Mountwest Community & Technical College Career Services will host two events in November aimed to help individuals improve interviewing and resume writing skills. Both events are open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public at no cost.
The first event is a Resume Workshop, which will take place on Tuesday, November 12, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Mountwest in room 110. Individuals will learn how to target resumes and resume fundamentals. Participants are welcome to bring existing resumes for detailed critiques and advice on ways to improve.
On Thursday, November 21, an Interviewing Skills Workshop will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in room 110 at Mountwest. Participants will learn effective interviewing techniques, how the interview process works, and successful interview strategies and tips.
Glen Midkiff, Career Services Coordinator, said both events will be informative for students looking to gain employment in the near future, as well as any currently employed individuals looking for a career change.
“Your first impression and professional resume are both critical factors during the interview process, especially today when jobs are more difficult to come by,” said Midkiff. “We’re excited to offer these workshops to our community and hope many will take advantage of it.”
