Mountwest podcast named “new and noteworthy”

March 07, 2012

Huntington, W.Va. - Mountwest Instructors Joshua Joseph and Patrick Smith broadcast a podcast each week and recently were named to the New and Noteworthy category under the Higher Education Podcasts on iTunes.

Joseph and Smith produce the podcasts as an academic project in which they discuss various topics about Information Technology. The podcasts are different each week, and while they are directly related to Mountwest prisms, the skills and knowledge they discuss are universal and college related. They focus on the skills and experience needed in the workforce and include a segment on the latest trends in Information Technology, while providing commentary about what this means for students and listeners.

“The goal of these podcasts is to give our technology students an additional, innovative way to learn about curriculum and career opportunities that they may not get during class. Much of our discussion applies to technology and jobs and is applicable whether you are in West Virginia or California,” said Smith.
