Mountwest offers Hands-On Dissection Camp for Kids

Huntington, W.Va. - Mountwest Community & Technical College is offering Explore Life, a hands-on dissection camp this summer for students in grades 5 through 12. 

The cost for each three-day session is $100.00 per student. All sessions run from 9 a.m. – noon each day. Mountwest will host three camps:  June 10-12, June 17-19 and June 24-26.  

There will be four full-time Mountwest faculty instructors:  Dr. Jason Black (Cell Biology), Dr. Adam Swolsky (Human Anatomy & Physiology), William Fleischman (Exercise Physiology) and Nick Smith (Zoology/Paleontology). There will be a 5:1 student/instructor ratio during each of the sessions. Specimen may include:  clam, crayfish, earthworm, grassfrog, perch, starfish, grantia (sponge), grasshopper, honeybee, hydra, fetal pig and rat.
