Huntington, W.Va. - Mountwest Community & Technical College welcomes Dr. Harry Faulk as its new Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Faulk will provide leadership for all aspects of academic administration and programming, including the assessment of student learning outcomes, academic program review, curriculum development, academic budgeting, course scheduling, faculty evaluation and development, academic staffing and other related functions. Additionally, Dr. Faulk will serve as the College’s accreditation liaison officer with the North Central Association’s Higher Learning Commission.
Dr. Faulk is originally from western Pennsylvania and joins Mountwest with a multitude of experience in higher education. Dr. Faulk served as Associate Provost and professor of music at Fairmont State College. In 2004, he moved to Pittsburgh where he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Point Park University. In 2006, Dr. Faulk returned to West Virginia and was Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at New River Community and Technical College.
He earned a bachelor and master’s degree in music from the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music; a doctor of arts degree in music from Carnegie Mellon University; and completed post-doctoral work in higher education administration at West Virginia University.
