Huntington, W.Va. - Dr. Carol Perry, dean of the Liberal Arts & Transfer Studies Division at Mountwest Community & Technical College, has been selected to serve as a member of the Higher Learning Commission’s Peer Review Corps.
Peer reviewers share their knowledge and experience to assure that institutions comply with accreditation criteria and help institutions advance within the context of their mission. The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) relies on the work of peer reviewers for its accrediting activities. Dr. Perry will serve with 1,300 volunteer faculty and administrators from institutions across the 19-state North Central region.
HLC is an independent corporation and one of two commission members of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), which was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States.
"Carol’s selection to the Peer Review Corps is a prestigious honor," said President Keith Cotroneo. "She is incredibly knowledgeable about the policies and academic practices that govern accredited two-year institutions and will be a tremendous asset to HLC as a peer reviewer."
