When I decided to enroll at the MCTC, I was 31 years old and I thought that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the younger students in my class.
The classes were tough but the instructors are patient and if you are willing to give them a 110% effort, they will help you get through. This
has been a great experience. My only regret is that I should have enrolled earlier.
The MCTC is a great college that is full of tradition. And I
thank God for blessing me with this opportunity, as well as the staff at the MCTC. In my 2 years here, I have gained more computer knowledge and
I’ve also improved my public speaking skills. When I was in high school, math wasn’t my best subject, but with the help of the ASC, I was able to
figure out why I was having problems (lack of confidence). Now I am a graduate, and I am part of the tradition, both past and present. I know the
staff at the MCTC doesn’t hear it enough so I like to say, "Thank you for everything you’ve done for me."
I came to a point in my life where I needed to obtain the right training while achieving a degree in a profession I like and excel at. Through top
notch instructors who I know only want the best for their students, Marshall Community & Technical College not only prepared me for my profession
in the Information Technology industry, but helped me secure
a job within my local community at the United States Army Corps of Engineers as a Federal
Contractor performing enterprise level network and computer support services.
The MCTC gave me the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that would not have been
open to me in a bigger college. I received a great education in Information Technology that has been very valuable to me
as Information Technology Project Manager. I have never regretted my decision to start college at the MCTC, and continue
to count on the MCTC for my company, Daston Corporation’s staffing needs.
Ultimately, Marshall Community & Technical College was an affordable, smart choice for me assisting me with securing a
position in my field of work. Because of my education at Marshall Community & Technical College, I’m not spending the
most successful years of my life in debt!

For a woman who thought going back to school in her 40’s was going to be a nightmare
- she found that it was just the opposite. It was a beautiful dream. From Mrs.
Rebecca White to Mrs. Susan Peyton and everyone in between, all have made me a
successful woman in her 40’s. I wish to thank each and everyone that had me as a
student and was very kind and understanding when I didn’t understand myself. But as
fate has it, I made it with God’s help and the love and blessings from the wonderful people
that He has placed in my life in such a short time.
I will carry each and every instructor’s advice and teachings everywhere I go and will tell the world what Marshall Community
& Technical College has done for me in the years that I attended. Just think, Phoenix Arizona will get a taste
of what I have really learned at the MCTC.
At the age of 33 I found myself wanting to change careers and enter into the world of Information Technology. I enrolled at Marshall Community and
Technical Collage during their fall semester in 2004. I quickly discovered the value of MCTC's Associate Degree IT programs and classes. I found their
instructors to be very knowledgeable, eager to teach, and flexible to the needs of their students.
As part of MCTC's IT program, I began an internship in Sept of 2005 with the Daston Corporation. Daston is an Independent Government Contractor currently
providing IT network and desktop services to the US. Army Corp of Engineers. I found this experience to be invaluable. I was able to work and train with
an enterprise level organization and gain hands on experience with a complex real world IT network. When my internship ended I was offered a full time
position with the company, where I excelled in my new career.
Recently I accepted the position of Supervisor. I now manage a team consisting of 8 IT professional technicians. Our team provides IT network and desktop
services to over 1000 end users on a daily basis. If you are interested in beginning a rewarding career as an IT Network Professional, Marshall Community
and Technical Collage is a great place to start.

Marshall Community & Technical College has been a guiding force in my life for many
years. At the age of 34, I was given an opportunity to fulfill the lifelong dream of attending
college. Going in I knew the odds were stacked against me; I was a first
generation college student, displaced homemaker, and mother of two small children.
With the help and support of the MCTC faculty and staff, I overcame the obstacles and
accomplished my goal.
My experience with the MCTC was so positive it fostered a desire to continue my education.
After receiving the A.A.S. degree I went on to receive a B.A., followed by a M.S. and ultimately
admittance to a doctoral program. It all started with a walk through the front doors. An atmosphere of support and
encouragement surrounded me from day one. Not only would they not give up on me, they would not allow me to give
up on myself. I am honored to be a MCTC graduate. The faculty and staff care about their students and go out of their
way to provide every opportunity for success. They are the greatest.
The MCTC is fully accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and is
a member of Advantage Valey.
