Allied Health careers are in exciting and varied fields with many different career paths to choose from. Six out of ten health professionals work in an allied health field and provide health services as part of the overall healthcare teams. Allied health professionals are an integral part of the health care system, and there's a growing demand for them. You can obtain a skill set, certificate or 2-year degree within most of our programs.

General Education / Transfer Studies

The General Education and Transfer Studies Associate of Arts degree can establish the foundation for a lifetime of continual learning and serve as a framework for a productive professional and personal life. This degree gives emphasis to practical skills in communication and critical thinking, which may lead to employment such as a paraprofessional in education; however, the goal of this program is successful transfer with junior status to an upper division baccalaureate degree program in secondary education.

Students will learn from experienced business professionals and develop transferable skills that will help any business thrive. The principles of civic engagement, entrepreneurial development, and data-driven decision-making are embedded into all of our MCTC Business programs.

Earn specialized training in the law with our Paralegal and Criminal Justice programs housed in the Legal Studies program area. Graduates are in high demand and can apply for a variety of positions such as administrators for nonprofit legal services, trust administrative assistants, and criminal justice occupations.

Culinary Arts and Hospitality

Culinary Arts Program

The Culinary Arts and Hospitality food service industry is a large, diverse field that provides challenging and exciting career opportunities for people from all walks of life. Students will enjoy classes in our Mountwest Center for Culinary Arts: a 14,000-square foot facility equipped with a USDA and FDA approved commercial kitchen, several walk-in coolers and freezers, blast chiller, bottle filling line and two general purpose classrooms that double as dining areas.

Transportation

The Mountwest Maritime Academy in our Transportation program features state of the art simulators used for both Steersman and Radar certifications. Real life simulation is used to educate students in practical situations and responses. The Mountwest Maritime Academy compares maritime industry standards and regulations to its students, adding an extra dimension and enhances the traditional learning experience.
