At Mountwest Community & Technical College, students may choose from more than 50 one-year certificate and associate degree programs. In addition to Associate in Applied Science offerings, Mountwest also offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Science pathways for those planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree.
Allied Health careers are in exciting and varied fields with many different career paths to choose from. Six out of ten health professionals work in an allied health field and provide health services as part of the overall healthcare teams. Allied health professionals are an integral part of the health care system, and there's a growing demand for them. You can obtain a skill set, certificate or 2-year degree within most of our programs.
The General Education and Transfer Studies Associate of Arts degree can establish the foundation for a lifetime of continual learning and serve as a framework for a productive professional and personal life. This degree gives emphasis to practical skills in communication and critical thinking, which may lead to employment such as a paraprofessional in education; however, the goal of this program is successful transfer with junior status to an upper division baccalaureate degree program in secondary education.
In our Applied Technology programs, students will develop vocational skills with hands-on training for growing job markets like machinist technology, geographic information science, and biomedical instrumentation technology.

Our Non-Traditional Degrees cater to adult learners, with commitments outside of school and who have more life experience to guide them. You will find opportunities to earn college credit for your life experiences, take classes with flexible schedules, engage in the classroom with hybrid learning opportunities, and have your pick from a variety of potential career paths.

An associate degree in Information Technology lays the foundation you need in technical knowledge and critical-thinking skills for the modern era. Our programs cover a wide variety of IT applications: Animation, Graphic Design, Mobile App Development, Multimedia, and Network Systems and Security. Many of our programs feature career certificates along the learning path.
Increasing complexities in the Business environment have created the need for individuals who possess a greater diversity of skills in the fields of accounting, marketing, management, economics, and finance. Students will learn from experienced business professionals and develop transferable skills that will help any business thrive. The principles of civic engagement, entrepreneurial development, and data-driven decision-making are embedded into all of our MCTC Business programs.
Earn specialized training in the law with our Paralegal and Criminal Justice programs housed in the Legal Studies program area. Graduates are in high demand and can apply for a variety of positions such as administrators for nonprofit legal services, trust administrative assistants, and criminal justice occupations.
The Culinary Arts and Hospitality food service industry is a large, diverse field that provides challenging and exciting career opportunities for people from all walks of life. Students will enjoy classes in our Mountwest Center for Culinary Arts: a 14,000-square foot facility equipped with a USDA and FDA approved commercial kitchen, several walk-in coolers and freezers, blast chiller, bottle filling line and two general purpose classrooms that double as dining areas.

The Mountwest Maritime Academy in our Transportation program features state of the art simulators used for both Steersman and Radar certifications. Real life simulation is used to educate students in practical situations and responses. The Mountwest Maritime Academy compares maritime industry standards and regulations to its students, adding an extra dimension and enhances the traditional learning experience.
